11. Emergency Closing Policy
At
times an emergency closing of the institution may be declared by the President
or another senior officer of the institution. Such closings, although rarely
necessary, may be required because of extreme weather conditions or other
emergencies. When such a closing occurs, public announcements will be made
through radio stations WEST-AM, 1400 (WLEV-FM, 96.1); WAEB-AM, 790, (WAEB-FM,
104.1); and WFMZ-FM, 100.7. When there
is a threat of inclement weather or another type of emergency, please call the
inclement weather hotline (610-625-7995) to hear of a school closing or other
emergency information.
Commuting
students who miss class during a snow emergency, winter weather advisory, or
travel advisory may not be penalized for their absence if class is
held. Faculty who cancel class because
of weather advisories or other emergencies when the College is otherwise open
need to notify the registrar (daytime, or campus safety for classes beginning before
8AM) or the Comenius Center (summer and evening classes).
