5.A. General benefits of employment
Adjunct
faculty are entitled to the following:

Photo ID cards (available at Campus Safety)--REQUIRED

A parking permit (available at Campus Safety)--REQUIRED
·
A network login and account for e-mail (available from the Center for
Information Technology; contact the Academic Affairs Office for an application)--REQUIRED
·
A campus web login for viewing the instructor’s class list(s) and for
entering final course grades
·
A telephone extension with a voice mail box (contact the Academic
Affairs Office for information)
·
An office, on a space-available basis
·
A mailbox on campus
·
Admission to all college-sponsored events at the rate charged to
regular
·
Use of the library facilities for research, interlibrary loans,
borrowing of books from our collection, and to provide bibliographic
instruction for students in the instructor’s class(es)

With no tuition charge, an adjunct faculty member may enroll in
undergraduate courses each term equal to the number of courses taught by said
adjunct in that same term. The adjunct
faculty member may defer such tuition-free enrollment to a subsequent term, but
not later than the summer following the term in which the teaching is
performed. A music teacher who gives
private music lessons to 10 or more students in a term at the College may
enroll in one undergraduate course unit without tuition charge, with deferment
no later than the summer following the term in which the teaching is performed. Enrollment is on a space-available
basis. Though tuition charges are
waived, the faculty member is responsible for any course fees (such as lab
fees, field experience fees, etc.), books or additional costs associated with
the course(s).

In some cases, adjunct faculty may apply for funding to support
professional development. Individual
faculty should consult with the chair of the department in which they are
teaching. First priority is given to full-time
faculty who are presenting papers or traveling for research purposes.
Any faculty or staff member
of the institution may become a member of the Bethlehem Teachers Federal Credit
Union. Persons wishing to apply may secure information from the Human Resources
Office or from the credit union office, located at
