We get together weekly for lunch in Clewell Dining Hall to chat about art and life. New people are always welcome and you do not have to be an art major or minor to join. Please check Facebook and the art club bulletin boards for upcoming events. You may also email Jan Ciganick at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to be placed on the Art Club’s email list.
The Art Club sponsors activities related to the visual arts which are open to the entire Moravian College community. We regularly visit art exhibitions on and off campus. In Spring 2013, we took an overnight trip to Baltimore to visit MICA Senior Thesis Exhibition, galleries and museums. Other overnights included trips Hudson Valley, with stops at Storm King, Dia Beacon, and Olana. We also regularly visit galleries and studios to attend exhibitions and openings. We also attend local art events such as First Friday and exhibitions at area colleges. Other events include art workshops in a variety of media, visiting artist lectures, Open Studio Night, and the annual Art Auction. Opportunities to exhibit work are available on- and off-campus, and we hang and arrange many exhibits in the H. Paty Eiffe Gallery of the HUB. We also participate in campus activities such as the homecoming banner contest and recycled art contest. Our goal is to engage students and the entire campus in the visual arts through a wide variety of activities.
