Moravian is a private, coeducational,
selective liberal arts college that traces its origin
to 1742. Moravian grants the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor
of Science, and Bachelor of Music. In addition to
the bachelor degrees, Moravian College grants the
Master of business Administration (MBA) and Master
of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (MEd)
through the Division of Continuing and Graduate Studies.
Moravian College is incorporated under
the laws of Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is accredited
by the Middle States
Association of Colleges and Schools and approved
for professional preparation by the American
Chemical
Society,
the Committee
on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the
American Medical Association through the National
Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences,
by the Department
of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
and the National Association
of Schools of Music.
The College is a member of the Council
of Independent Colleges and Universities, the American
Council on Education, the National Association of
Independent Colleges and Universities, the
Pennsylvania Association
of Colleges
and Universities,
and the
Association of Independent Colleges and Universities
of Pennsylvania.
There are one hundred seven full-time
faculty at Moravian. More than 86 percent hold an
earned doctorate
or other terminal degree. The faculty is teaching-oriented,
with a significant record of professional activity
and recognition.
Moravian enrolls approximately 1,400
students. Students come
from a variety
of socioeconomic, religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
In addition, the college enrolls approximately 400
full and part-time undergraduates through the Division
of Continuing and Graduate Studies. The MBA and MEd
programs currently enroll about 140 students.
