The Lebensfeld Prizes

Each year since the Spring of 1999, the WritingCenter has sponsored the Lebensfeld Prizes for writing by Moravian College students. These cash prizes, funded through the generosity of the Lebensfeld Foundation of Jersey City, NJ, are awarded for the Best Personal Essay, Best Scholarly Essay, Best Poem, and Best Short Story. Judges for the prizes have been area poets, Moravian College alumni working in the fields of writing and editing, and College faculty and deans.

I. Two cash awards for the BEST WRITING 100 ESSAY (Fall 2010 and Spring 2011).

These two prize-winning essays, plus any Honorable Mention essays that are selected, will be published by the Writing Center as The Best Writing 100 Essays 2010-2011 at the end of the academic year.

Submission Deadline for Spring '11 Writing 100 Students: April 30, 2011.

• THE BEST PERSONAL ESSAY (Not written for Writing 100)
• THE BEST SHORT STORY
