Submission Guidelines

BEST WRITING 100 ESSAY

  1. Essay should be typed and double-spaced, titled, with numbered pages; your name should not appear anywhere on the essay itself.
  2. Attach a cover sheet to the essay you are submitting. Include the following information on your cover sheet:
    1. your name
    2. your campus address, telephone number, and e-mail address
    3. the essay title
    4. the name of your Writing 100 instructor, along with that instructor's signature (Note that entries without the signature of a current Writing 100 instructor will not be accepted.)
  3. Leave your essay in the drop-off box at the Reeves Library Circulation Desk or the Writing Center (second floor of Zinzendorf Hall).

THE BEST POEM

  1. All submissions must be typed; essays and short stories must be double-spaced; poems may be single-spaced.
  2. Recommended length for essays and short stories: 1,000-5,000 words.
  3. Each student submitting poetry may submit a maximum of three poems.
  4. Pages should be numbered; your name should not appear on any page.
  5. Include a separate cover page that includes the following:
    1. your name
    2. your campus address, telephone number, and e-mail address
    3. the title(s) of the work you are submitting
    4. for academic essays, the name of the course for which the essay was written.
  6. Leave your submission(s) in the drop-off box at the Reeves Library Circulation Desk or the Writing Center (second floor of Zinzendorf Hall).
