Teacher Certification in English

Students seeking certification in elementary or secondary education follow the requirements for Track I: Language and Literature.

Track I for students seeking certification in secondary education requires 11 courses, including English 220, 221, 330, or 350, two period courses (British and American), a genre course, a writing course, a course in public speaking, a theater or media course, and two courses selected in consultation with the advisor.
