Discover Theatre at Moravian

At Moravian College students learn theatre by doing theatre, and   everyone is encouraged to get involved. The theatre company includes   students with all levels of experience and a wide variety of academic interests.  Although there is no theatre major at the college,   students are able to design majors tailored to fit their academic goals.

As the director of theatre at Moravian, one of my goals is to create   opportunities for students to be as involved as they want in theatre.  Whether a student wants to work backstage or on stage--as an actor, designer, board operator, director, playwright, composer, stage manager, crew member or producer--I want him or her to pursue that   interest.  More and more students are rising to the challenge of  initiating their own projects.  This is evident in the 2009-10 season  which includes two student directed plays and a student cabaret.

As part of our continuing effort to share the work of the theatre   company with the community at large this year we will be holding post- production discussions on Friday evenings.  You are invited to join us  after the Friday night performance of each play for a conversation  with the actors and directors.  This will be an opportunity to learn more about the subject and themes of a play and about the process and   art of theatre itself. Theatre is a wonderful vehicle to learn about the world and about   yourself. I invite you--in the company or in the audience-- to   discover theatre at Moravian.
