Quotes from some of our tutors:

"I am a Writing Center tutor because I have a passion for words, writing, and cooperative learning. I not only enjoy helping people improve their writing skills, but also get 'geeked' by all the interesting information I learn by helping them. Plus, it's a fun place to work with amazing people and comfy couches!"

- Krystle Willing '08

“The Writing Center is not only a place where I was helped tremendously by a knowledgeable friend, but is also now a place where I can share what I know. Working at the Writing Center allows me to talk to fellow students about things which interest them, and to help them learn how to communicate those ideas to their peers. The Writing Center always has someone ready to listen and help.”

- Jen Gillard ‘07

“The best thing about the Writing Center is that it helps everybody. No matter what you're writing about or how good a writer you consider yourself, the Writing Center has something to offer. There is something unique about reading work aloud to a peer that allows anybody's writing to grow. I am always happy to be part of that process!”

- Stephanie Anderson ’07

“I love working in the Writing Center because it gives me a chance to encourage my fellow students in their pursuit to become better writers. It’s satisfying to see the light-bulb go off when a student understands what needs to be done with a piece of writing.”

- Lenore DiLullo ’06

“Writing can be like climbing a mountain. The greatest challenges are knowing what we want to say, as writers, and being able to say it so the audience can relate. The Writing Center is a place to gather up the gear and tackle the mountain.”

- Suzanne Tamlyn ’07

“The Writing Center is my passion in life. There is absolutely nothing better than waking up and thinking to yourself, ‘Today, I’m going to learn something from someone I’ve never met before. I’m going to get a glimpse into their life, and I’m going to have the chance to really jump into their writing style.’ It’s such a beautiful thing to experience someone else’s writing and help them develop it.”

- Courtney Werner ‘06
