Jefferson Program in Allied Health - Course Information

Pre-Biotechnology: The following courses are required: Biology 112, 210, 235, 340, and 350; Chemistry 113-114 and 211-212; Computer Science 105; Mathematics 106-166, 107, or 170; Writing 100; English 101, 102, 103, 104, or 105; and one course in the humanities.

Pre-Cytotechnology: The following courses are required: Biology 112, 210, 235, 340, Biology 345 or 355; Chemistery 113-114; Computer Science 105; Mathematics 106-166, 107, or 170; Writing 100; English 101, 102, 103, 104, or 105; two courses in the social sciences or humanities.

Pre-Diagnostic Imaging: When they leave Moravian after two years, students may concentrate in radiography, computed tomography, medical sonography, magnetic resonance imaging, echocardiography, peripheral vascual studies, or cardiac catheterization.
Required courses are: Biology 112, 310, 350, and 386; Writing 100; English 101, 102, 103, 104, or 105; Mathematics 106-166, 107, or 170; Physics 109; an introductory psychology and sociology course; three electives from humanities or social sciences.
Students may elect to pursue these studies at schools other than the Jefferson College of Health Professions.

Pre-Occupational Therapy: Students may select any major or design their own programs, but schools that grant degrees in occupational therapy require basic preparation in prescribed areas. Required courses are: Biology 112, 210, 310, 350, and 386; Chemistry 113-114; Computer Science 105; Mathematics 106-166, 107, or 170; Writing 100; English 101, 102, 103, 10, or 105; Psychology 120, and 207 or 362; Sociology 113 and 170.

Students may elect field study in hospitals at major rehabilitation centers, clinics, or sports-medicine facilities.

Medical Technology: Moravian has a cooperative program in medical technology with Jefferson College of Health Professions. Students interested in medical technology should consult the Office of Health Professions.
