JOB POSTING: ASSISTANT DEAN of the COMENIUS CENTER

Moravian College’s Comenius Center for Continuing, Professional, and Graduate Studies seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Dean. The Assistant Dean supports the Dean in planning, promotion, and operation of the Comenius Center, which includes the Graduate programs, the Evening College, Summer Sessions, and May Term.  The Assistant Dean has primary responsibility for recruiting new students and strengthening community awareness of Comenius Center programs. The Assistant Dean participates in development and implementation of plans to market Comenius Center programs.  The Assistant Dean is responsible for the academic advising of, and educational planning for Comenius Center undergraduate students, and serves as an advocate for non-traditional students.  The assistant dean reports directly to the dean of the Comenius Center.

This position full-time/12 months and eligible for full benefits.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt CLASSIFICATION: Administrative

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a master's degree and a minimum of three years of experience recruiting and counseling non-traditional students in a liberal arts college setting.  The assistant dean must understand academic program planning and procedures and have excellent written and oral communication skills.  Fluency in Spanish is desirable, as is a familiarity with and an understanding of one or more racial/ethnic minority cultures.  The assistant dean must also be a dynamic self-starter, with strong analytical, planning, technology, administrative and organizational abilities, and superior interpersonal and networking skills.  Prior experience in marketing, career counseling, and college-level teaching desirable.  The position requires a combination of day, evening and, weekend hours.
