JOB POSTING: Groundskeeper; Essential Personnel
Responsible for performing duties necessary for the care, protection and preservation of the grounds and landscaping associated with the institution including landscape, lawn, athletic field and natural area maintenance, street, road and parking maintenance, snow removal and minor equipment repair and maintenance. Provide the students, faculty and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient environment in which to learn, work and develop; Secondary duties will include trash removal, event set-up and set-down and delivery and transportation activities; Must possess prior knowledge and experience or demonstrated understanding of grounds or landscape maintenance and associated materials and equipment.
This is a 12 month position eligible for full benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED, valid Pennsylvania driver’s license are required. Must possess prior knowledge and experience or demonstrated understanding of grounds or landscape maintenance and associated materials and equipment; Ability to perform manual tasks requiring above average physical strength; Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, etc., in ditches, freight elevators or other confining spaces, shovel snow and operate snow removal equipment; must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and not have allergic reactions to chemical substances or the more common environmental factors; must possess the ability to work under the direction of others, follow oral and written instructions, and work with other staff members as part of a team to create and maintain a positive, productive, safe and efficient work environment; As “essential personnel”, will be required to report for work outside of normal working hours including during institutional closures, emergencies and scheduled and unscheduled events as instructed.
