JOB POSTING: Director of Reeves Library
The Library Director is responsible for carrying out the mission of Reeves Library. She/He is responsible for setting goals and for providing direction, leadership, and coordination for the library's programs, services, and resources. She/He has overall responsibility for budgeting, personnel, public services, policies, and collection development for the library. The Director advocates for and represents the library in the larger campus community. The library director collaborates with institution’s Development Office to raise funds, foster giving relationships, to build unfunded programs, and to support the archives. Additionally the director is charged to work with the faculty and administration of the institution to ensure that the library supports the institutional mission.
This position full-time/12 months and eligible for full benefits.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates are required to have an ALA-accredited MLS/MSIS; a second Masters is desirable. Progressively responsible administrative experience in an academic library is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate successful leadership and advocacy in their current and/ or previous positions. A record of successfully implementing and sustaining library programs is also required. The individual must possess a strong commitment to providing excellent library service to the College and Seminary and an awareness and understanding of the issues and challenges facing academic libraries, especially as these relate to information literacy, assessment, and electronic resources. She/He should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
