JOB POSTING: OFFICE ASSISTANT - MATHEMATICS & COMPUTER SCIENCE
Key responsibilities of this position include providing secretarial and clerical support to aid the faculty and students with their teaching, research and faculty development, learning, and service responsibilities. This position is part-time during the academic year and ineligible for benefits.
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
DEPARTMENTS: Mathematics & Computer Science
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the department chair, supports math and computer science faculty.
SUPERVISION EXCERCISED: Student office workers, teaching assistants, graders and tutors as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. Some college preferred with at least 3 years related experience. Prior clerical support experience in an academic setting is preferred. The position demands excellent organizational and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), and an ability and desire to work closely with all constituencies of the College and Seminary including students, staff and faculty, in addition to the general public. Requires a team player who can multitask and work under firm deadlines while maintaining confidentiality. Computer literacy as well as experience with Microsoft Office, particularly database applications, word processing and spreadsheets is essential. Must be able to work independently without supervision.
