JOB POSTING: Police Officer
The Police Officer is charged with the security of life, limb, property, and equipment with the institution and the enforcement of all institution rules, regulations, and State and Federal laws.
This position is full-time/12 months and eligible for benefits.
CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff
FLSA STATUS : Non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or prior experience as a campus police officer or as a community-based police officer. Must have certification under PA Act 120. In addition, certification under PA Act 235 or the ability to become certified is required. The position demands excellent organizational skills as well as superior interpersonal skills (verbal and written), and an ability and desire to work closely with all constituencies of the College and Seminary including students, staff and faculty, in addition to the general public. Must have exceptional skills in computer use and the ability to learn and operate various software programming in current use by the Department. Must submit to a background check, and upon conditional appointment pass a medical examination, drug screen and psychological examination. Must be in excellent physical condition to respond to emergencies and handle criminal incidents in accordance with the rules of Campus Safety. Must be able to work all shifts and overtime as is deemed necessary.
