MORAVIAN COLLEGE seeks qualified candidate to work with the associate dean and program directors to increase enrollment in Comenius Center programs, provides financial aid information to Comenius Center students, and performs academic administrative work, particularly related to recruitment and admission of new students.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Associate Dean of the Comenius Center.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Office staff as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student recruitment.
- works with the associate dean and program directors to develop recruitment plans and programs to increase community awareness of and enrollment in Comenius Center programs;
- assists with the planning and preparation of recruitment tools (print and electronic) and advertisements;
- as needed, distributes and maintains supply of recruitment materials; creates, updates, and maintains distribution lists; maintains recruitment event logs;
- has primary responsibility for community outreach, with particular emphasis on communities of color and other traditionally underserved communities;
- participates in recruitment fairs and other outreach events;
- explains academic programs, provides preliminary evaluations of prior credits.
Admissions.
- prepares transfer evaluations (in consultation, as necessary with academic departments) for applicants for baccalaureate degree candidacy.
Financial aid.
- provides basic counseling about financial aid options and procedures to current and prospective students for baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate programs.
Student services.
- plans orientations and other meetings for Comenius Center students, open houses, and other events, including but not limited to honor society induction and graduation celebration event;
- develops and maintains a 12-month schedule of orientations, open houses, receptions, and related events, and assembles a manual with directions for completing those tasks;
- provides prospective graduating students with information relating to their participation in commencement;
- provides direction to students who request services (such as academic tutoring or career counseling) or who must resolve administrative issues with other College offices (such as the Bursar, the Registrar, Financial Aid Office, the Veterans' Affairs representative;
Other academic administration.
- assists with the development of text for Comenius Center print publications;
- maintains the Comenius Center website;
- as needed, enters information in the Comenius Center section of the Jenzabar database and develops Infomaker reports;
- as needed, updates Comenius Center content in AMOS;
- assists with data compilation and analysis.
Other.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the associate dean of Comenius Center.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a master’s degree. Prior experience with recruitment is highly desirable. Familiarity with adult and other non-traditional student populations and with the small, liberal arts college environment are pluses as is prior work with web software and databases. The Recruiter must be a self-starter, with strong planning and organizational abilities, superior interpersonal skills, and solid written and oral communication skills. The position requires a combination of day, evening and, at times, weekend hours. Local travel required.
