Campus Safety has an immediate openings for a full-time and part-time Security Officers. The security officer is charged with the security of life, limb, property, and equipment within the institution and the enforcement of all institution rules and regulations.

FLSA STATUS : Non-exempt
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervised by the Director of Campus Safety/ Chief of Police or his/her designee.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Work Study students as appropriate
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforce the rules and regulations of Moravian College and help in the enforcement of laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Federal Regulations
- Patrol the campus by vehicle and on foot.
- Make reports of criminal activity.
- Provide for the security of all campus buildings and property by assisting in the locking of buildings and reporting those circumstances that present any danger to college property, students, or employees.
- Direct traffic.
- Provide a variety of services including but not limited to: medical transports, motorist assists, money escorts, lock/unlock requests, and non medical escorts.
- Check for and report all suspicious activity, equipment malfunction, and other irregularities.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director/Chief, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Corporal or O.I.C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of a High School diploma. Prior experience as a campus police officer or community-based police officer helpful but not required. Must be eligible for Act 235 Certification. Must possess good interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities. Must submit to a background check. Must be in excellent physical condition to respond to emergencies in accordance with the rules of Campus Safety. Must be able to work all shifts.
