Community Service Opportunities

Two Faculty/Staff Participants Needed for Urban Service Experience: This Urban Service Experience service trip will involve travel to Newark, New Jersey over Spring Break to participate in the United Way of Northern New Jersey’s Alternative Spring Break program.  During this service experience, participants will work directly with children at a variety of after-school program settings in the Boys and Girls Club network, and will also have an opportunity to participate in other indoor and outdoor service projects aimed at increasing the capacity of community-based agencies throughout Newark.  Education is the key focus of this service experience.  Faculty/staff participants will incur no cost for their participation, however, they will be responsible for participating in group trainings, student safety, reflection activities, and other responsibilities associated with leading a trip.  If interested, please contact Nicole Nugent, Community Service Coordinator in the Center for Leadership and Service at nugentn@moravian.edu or 610-625-7857 for more information.
