Publicity
What kind of publicity efforts will IN FOCUS provide for my event?
The Public Relations Office and IN FOCUS website provide the following publicity:
- General promotion as appropriate of IN FOCUS programming through the Public Relations news releases, email notices, campus digital signage, and Moravian College website
- Event listing on IN FOCUS website schedule
- Speaker photo, bio, webpage link and other information as provided by planner will be posted on the IN FOCUS website on the Speakers page
- Event listing in Happenings@Moravian monthly e-newsletter
- Advance and follow-up stories in InCommon and/or Moravian College Magazine when appropriate
- Public Relations Office coverage and reporting on selected IN FOCUS events and activities
- Post links to events annoucements, stories and/or photographs on Social media, i.e. Facebook, Twitter
- IN FOCUS website link on Moravian College, Moravian Theological Seminary, and Comenius Center websites
What are my responsibilities regarding publicity?
- Completing and submitting the “Get Involved Form” on the IN FOCUS website
- Organizers are asked to note IN FOCUS partnership in their publicity efforts:
- include a "SUSTAINABILITY | IN FOCUS" graphic file on emails, posters, flyers, etc. (see logo image files below)
- Consider the suggested standard wording for press releases:
- This event is part of the 2012-13 IN FOCUS initiative, "SUSTAINABILITY | INFOCUS." INFOCUS is annual program that combines academic courses, public lectures and exhibits, film showings and other events and is intended to engage students and the entire community in a collective learning experience about a timely, even urgent, issue.
- Publicizing to your listservs, mailing lists, website, newsletters and other avenues of communication as usual
- Reserving space (if necessary) and posting your event on Moravian’s campus calendar
- Obtaining all relevant information and high resolution, print-quality photos/images and providing information for the IN FOCUS website Speakers page and for PR press release for your event if it has wide appeal to the general public
- Notifying IN FOCUS immediately if there are changes to your event’s date, time or description
