Pianist Debra Torok has performed throughout the United States and Europe and has been on the faculty of New York University and more recently Lehigh University. She studied in New York and Philadelphia with Jerome Lowenthal, Alexander Eydelman, Susan Starr, Antonio Barbosa, and Joseph Villa, and holds a Ph.D. in Piano Performance. She has released several CDs including Through and Within This Century Past and her highly acclaimed series of recordings of the complete piano works of Emmy and Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Norman Dello Joio, for Albany Records.

Her recordings and interviews have been heard on radio stations across America and she has also been featured on National Public Radio. She has made a number of appearances on PBS television and was featured in her own program Sounds Abound Around. She had an integral role behind the scenes in the PBS Documentary Make a Joyful Noise and also served as Music Consultant for this production, which is now available on DVD.

In addition to performing and recording, Dr. Torok composes, presents workshops, master classes, and lectures. She is a member of Artists for Amnesty International and is currently teaching at Moravian College.
