Letter from the Chair
Dear Friends of MORAVIAN COLLEGE:
As a result of President Christopher M. Thomforde’s impending retirement at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year, the MORAVIAN COLLEGE Joint Board of Trustees now has a priority to hire the best next president for MORAVIAN COLLEGE. To be effective in that endeavor, we have reached out to a broadly representative group of people within our campus community to serve on the search committee. David Bennett, Chair of the Seminary’s Trustees and the former chaplain of the institution, serves as the committee chair.
We have partnered with Greenwood/Asher and Associates, an executive search firm specializing in higher education, to facilitate the search for our next president. The Greenwood/Asher team includes the firm’s principal, Dr. Kathy Martin, and executive search consultant, Chris Channing.
Our goal is to conclude the search process by the close of the 2012 calendar year. The profile of our institution, created after several listening sessions, interviews and surveys involving a broad base of our campus community, both past and present, is being used as the fundamental document to inform and attract qualified candidates.
The website that you are viewing now will serve as a major communication vehicle as we proceed. Information and several vital documents are included herein—the presidential profile, the search committee and its charge, the search process and timeline, and updates. Dave Bennett will post messages and status on a periodic basis, so please visit this site as often as you’d like to get up-to-date information.
Thank you for your interest in MORAVIAN COLLEGE and in our continued vitality.
Sincerely yours for MORAVIAN COLLEGE,
Lyn Trodahl Chynoweth
Chair, Joint Board of Trustees
