To: The Moravian College Community
From: Rev. David E. Bennett, Chair, Presidential Search Committee
On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee, I am pleased to be able to report that our work toward selecting a new President for MORAVIAN COLLEGE is advancing on schedule. Following a first orientation meeting, the Presidential Search Committee has been able to work in partnership with Greenwood/Asher Associates to establish a thorough profile of our institution and the position of president. This profile, along with an advertisement for the position, has been prominently posted and recruitment is now in the early stages. As you know, the Presidential Search Committee also solicited the input and perspective of the entire campus community through face-to-face listening sessions, as well as through an online leadership survey, which was also made available to alums. The results of that survey are now tabulated and before the Presidential Search Committee members for their review and study. The next phase of the search will include prospect review, as all candidates are thoroughly reviewed and leading prospects are identified.
Certainly this period of the search can be especially uneasy for the campus community as there is a natural desire for more information. There is a lot of activity underway and I will endeavor to supply regular updates, providing as much information as is possible without jeopardizing the integrity of the search process. I ask that you respect the Search Committee members in their responsibility to keep all information related to the search confidential. They too are in the uncomfortable position of preserving confidential information while sustaining a breadeth of critical collegial relationships.
Thank you for both your interest in this important process and for your support as we move forward.
