To: The Moravian College Community
From: Rev. David E. Bennett, Chair, Presidential Search Committee
I am pleased to provide you with an update on the search for our next President. The search committee has been diligent in evaluating the materials of those interested in succeeding President Thomforde. This past weekend, the search committee completed two days of in-person interviews with a subset of highly qualified candidates. The process continues to move forward and we are now prepared to invite a set of candidates to campus December 3-5 and December 12-13.
We will provide additional information about the candidates and about specific scheduling as those dates approach; however, we wanted you to be aware of the dates so that you can plan to participate in the campus visits, which serve two important functions. Certainly and vitally, these visits give our campus community an opportunity to meet and interact with the candidates. Equally important is the chance for the candidates to gain a better knowledge of MORAVIAN COLLEGE through large and small group interaction with members of the campus community. Summary feedback from these interactions will serve as an additional resource to the search committee.
We enter a time of great activity on campus as the conclusion of the academic semester approaches. We recognize the press of your individual schedules and appreciate your willingness to participate in this vital step of the process. Let me also extend my thanks to the members of the Presidential Search Committee who have shown exceptional dedication to this process and to the future of MORAVIAN COLLEGE.
