  • eBrary:this collection of approximately 35,000 ebooks are subscribed to by the library. These ebooks broach a wide range of subjects. They can also be accessed by searching the Reeves Library catalog.
  • Oxford Reference Online is a database of online reference books that relate to a broad number of categories, including online dictionaries and encyclopedias.
  • Encyclopedia of Drugs, Alcohol, & Addictive Behavior is the udpated version of the encyclopedia in the reference section. It provides detailed articles on both legal and illegal substances that are commonly abused. Its articles are highly authoritative.
  • Oxford Encyclopedia of American Literature This encyclopedia offers browsable entries on major American Authors and their works. It can also be searched by keyword.
  • Grove Music Online: This site provides online access to the following reference books:The Oxford Dictionary of Music, The Oxford Companion to Music, The Oxford Encyclopedia of Popular Music, The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, The New Grove Dictionary of Opera, and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz.
Freely available to all users
  • Project Gutenberg: over 25,000 free ebooks can be found in Gutenberg's catalog, including classics such as The Iliad & Dracula.
  • Digital Books: this site requires a login, but is a free index of digital books(both free and for a fee) on the web.
  • Google BookSearch:allows you to search for books the way you would search for websites. Out of copyright books are made freely available -- those that require a fee can be located at a nearby library by clicking 'library search'.
  • The Universal Digital Library's goal is to provide access to one million electronic books. Books can be keyword searched or browsed by publication date, language, subject, or title/author.
  • University of Pittsburgh Digital Editions: provides free access to ebooks published by the University's press.
  • International Children's Digital Libary provides access to children's books from around the world in a variety of languages.
  • Penn's Online Books Page: this page provides links by category to locations on the web for over 30,000 ebooks.
