is a multidisciplinary database covering both popular and scholarly journals. This database is most useful for students in the early stages of research, because searches return a broad range of article results


America: History & Life
Subject: Humanities > History.
America: History & Life offers access to scholarly articles, books, book reviews, and dissertations about United States and Canadian history from prehistory to the present.


Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
Subject: Multidisciplinary
The Directory of Open Access Journals is a selection of freely available full-text journals in a variety of subjects. Their search page is one way to find articles that are freely available.


Historical Statistics of the United States
Subject: Multidisciplinary. Reference. Business & Industry. Humanities > History. Social Sciences.
This thoroughly revised five-volume reference work, contains thirty years of new data and scholarship. Topics include demographic information about migration, health and crime, among many others.


Lexis Nexis Academic Universe
Subject: Multidisciplinary. News.
Lexis Nexis Academic Universe provides access to national and international newspapers, including articles covering corporate news; medical/health topics; legal news, reviews and reporters; federal case law; US Code; and state legal research.


PsycINFO
Subject: Social Sciences > Psychology.
PsycINFO is the premier database to search for scholarly psychology related articles. In addition to articles relating to traditional psychology, one can locate articles on human behavior, including management, organizational change, and marketing. Useful for industrial/organizational psychological research.


Sociological Abstracts
Subject: Social Sciences > Sociology.
Sociological Abstracts provides access to articles, books, chapters in books, and more in the fields of sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences.


Statesman's Yearbook
Subject: Multidisciplinary. Reference. Business & Industry. Humanities > History. Social Sciences > Political Science.
Provides brief entries on countries, people, & international organizations. Areas of description include city profiles, climate, government, industry, defence, & economy, as well as others. Available On Campus Only.


Web of Knowledge
Subject: Sciences. Social Sciences.
Web of Knowledge contains the two databases: Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Science Citation Index. These databases are core to science and social science research.
