Selection Exercise
Try your hand at selecting useful databases to research a topic.
Choose two subject-specific
databases (those with articles on just one discipline,
religion for example) to search to find an answer to each of the
research questions below. Click on a database name to view a description
of it. After making your choices, click on the answer
link under each question.

Gale Literary Index: Quick index
to the following Gale print publications that Reeves owns: Contemporary
Literary Criticism, Dictionary of Literary Biography, Nineteenth

Story Criticism, Twentieth Century Literary Criticism.
HealthSource: Nursing/Academic Edition: Indexes
and abstracts over 615 journals and contains full text of another 600
journals in medical/health fields; accessed through EBSCOHost.
Historical Abstracts: Indexes
and abstracts periodicals, books, book reviews and dissertations covering
world history (except for U.S. and Canada) from 1450 to the present.

Hoover's Online: Information on
industries and public and private companies worldwide. Includes company
profiles and financial and industry snapshots and statistics.
Iter: Iter meaning 'a journey' or
'a path' in Latin, is a non-profit research project from Toronto, Canada,
NYC, and Tempe, AZ. The goal of Iter is to increase access to all published
materials pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700).
