Locating Primary
Sources

Find
primary sources
in books by doing a Subject Keyword search on the online catalog.
Type "sources" (or diaries, interviews, correspondance,
memoirs) followed by the subject about which you want primary
sources. For example, the search, sources Ireland, will
bring up such primary sources as census data, parish registers,
and parliamentary debates relating to Ireland. Primary sources
may also be found in periodicals or on the Web.
Secondary
Sources
Anything
written about a primary source is a secondary source. So
an analysis, discussion, review, or study of a speech, a document,
a film, statistical data, a novel, etc. would be a secondary source.
