Precision Searching on the Web

When you plan a Web search, you follow the same steps that you take when planning a database search. Identify the concepts in your research question and then generate search terms (synonyms, abbreviations, and variant spellings) for the concepts. Click here to review this process.

It's a good idea to become thoroughly familiar with the searching capabilities of a good search engine in order to make the most of it.
