Fire safety is of primary importance to the Department of Campus Safety and Police and to all members of the campus community. Campus police and security officers; residence staff; and the staff of the Facilities Management, Planning, and Construction Department are trained in the use of on-campus fire equipment. Fire drills are conducted regularly in all residential facilities. Residential and academic buildings are equipped with smoke detectors and/or other emergency fire equipment. Fire safety and security procedures are reviewed at the beginning of each academic year. Safety and security awareness programs, including fire safety, are made available to students. In addition, the Bethlehem Fire Department works with the Campus Safety fire marshal who inspects all campus facilities and College-owned fraternity and sorority houses to assure fire code compliance. Further information is available on the Campus Safety website.
