- Homecoming
Build becomes a reality!
[View Photos] After a year
of planning and fundraising - the first Moravian College
Homecoming Build was completed last weekend! Even heavy rain
storms late Friday couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of more than
80 students, staff, alumni, and community partners as they
measures, sawed and hammered to completely frame one floor of a
Habitat for Humanity house. Individuals as well as groups
including Christian Fellowship, GSS, & SAAC. The frame was
moved from its work site near the 1742 splotch, to the Habitat
warehouse where it will be stored until the foundation is ready
and construction can resume. Watch for information about how you
can get involved with the work of the Moravian College Habitat
for Humanity Campus Chapter!

Walk/Run - Successful event to raise funds for the Jeremy Pierce
Memorial Fund
- Women's 5K
Classic - The ladies of Zeta participated in this and other
activities to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer.
- Environmental
Coalition - held the year's first Monocacy Creek Clean-up on
Sunday, October 21st. Coalition members and the brothers of OGO
participated.
- Race Against
the Sun - Accounting Club, GSS , Student Nurses, Sig Ep
Brothers and other students and staff participated in this first
"annual" event to heighten awareness for prevention and
treatment of malignant melanoma.
- The Learning
Connection held a reunion for all mentors and mentees who have
participated in the program since its inception in 1999. It was
great to see the "kids" who were 4th graders when they were part
of the TLC program and now are well on their way to being "grown
ups". Those first 4th graders are now seniors in
high school - could they be Moravian Hounds next year???
- Collection of
non-perishable food items for our neighbors at New Bethany
Ministries. Thanks to all who contributed!
- Fundraiser for
ALS Research sponsored by the men's basketball team.
- Community
Clean-up in September by members of SAAC

- Applications
available for
AmeriCorps - earn money for college while
participating in service activities of your choice!
- Holiday Hope Chests -
Once
again a campaign is underway to pack holiday gift boxes for
disadvantaged children in the Lehigh Valley. Although Moravian
College is NOT the collection site this year, you are encouraged
to participate by preparing a gift box or two! Visit

- United Way
campaign will kick off for staff members on Tuesday, November
6th and run until Friday November 30, 2007.
- Collection of
cleaning supplies for 6th Street Shelter will begin on Tuesday,
November 6th. Please use the
boxes in the HUB for your donations.
- Blood Drive -
watch for sign ups! Drive will be held in early November.
