Habitat for Humanity Homecoming Build

This is an annual event where members of the Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, alumni, and the entire campus community work together to frame a house on the Moravian College campus. We work on building the exterior of a house that we will be delivered to our local affiliate, Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley. This is our chapter's biggest event of the year! For more information, please contact Moravian College's Habitat for Humanity president, Andrew Benson.
Hunger Banquet
This event, which generally takes place in early November, during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, teaches participants about the problem of hunger in the world. As participants enter, they take a ticket out of a basket. On their ticket is a random assignment – either low income, middle income, or high income. The numbers are roughly proportionate to the distribution of wealth in the world; in other words, there are far more low income than middle, and far more middle than high. Participants then eat a meal, learn about hunger, and share thoughtful, reflective conversation that illustrates the inequalities in our world.
Relay for Life
Moravian College's Relay for Life is a spring event sponsored by Colleges Against Cancer, the collegiate organization affiliated with the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is a 12-hour experience that raises money for the American Cancer Society's cancer research, patient support, and awareness efforts. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Britney Kartasheff, The Colleges Against Cancer president.
If you would like more information about one of these events or would like to share an event idea, please stop by the Center for Leadership and Service located in the Haupert Union Building (HUB), or send us an e-mail. You can also contact us or learn more about the activities of the Center on our Facebook page.
Moravian College encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please e-mail Katie Dantsin, or call 610-861-1498.
