I will be a
senior at Moravian College. I’m very involved here on
campus; I am a Resident Adviser, an athlete, and a member of
two honor societies. I have been an RA for just one year,
but have had lots of experience in resident halls. Next
year, I will be the Senior Resident Adviser of Rau-Hassler
Hall. I play basketball for the Lady Greyhounds. I am the
vice president of both Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Alpha Theta,
respectfully the education and history national honor
societies.
I take academics
really serious. I understand that it is why I am here at
school and I make it my top priority. I have been on dean’s
list for every semester that I have been here. My passion
for learning drives my passion for teaching. I see teaching a as
way to continuously learn, not only about yourself but about
the world. This
is one of my top reasons for becoming a teacher.
I am an
assistant basketball coach at my high school. Even though I
can not make it back for a lot of the games, I put in a lot
of work in the off-season and over winter break. I love
working with the team to make them better. I especially
enjoy when they come to me to ask questions; since I played,
they feel very comfortable asking me questions about the
game.
In my free time,
I really enjoy working out, being outside, and reading. I
recently found enjoyment going on hikes. I like seeing
new places and this is my opportunity to do that; I like
finding environments that are calming. I also really enjoy
reading; I like to curl up with a book on a cloudy day and
really enjoy it. Being an athlete, working out is a top
priority and I think it is important in maintaining a
healthy life. 
I am also a
family person. I love being with my family. At school, that
is hard, but I make every effort to talk to them or even go
home for a day on the weekends. Since I live close to
Moravian, it is possible to go home for an afternoon to
enjoy my family. I also have two cats that I love! Pumpkin
and Peanut were my first pets, as a junior in high school,
and I couldn’t imagine nothing having them.
Lastly, I really
enjoy spending time with friends. You will usually find me
somewhere on campus, or off-campus, with my boyfriend
Logan. We have been dating for four years and he is my
best friend. I also enjoy spending time with my team; they
are always fun to be around!
