| Hi! My name is Jenny Buck and I
am currently a junior at Moravian
College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I am from Bethlehem Township and I
graduated from Freedom High School in 2008. I have two older brothers
and
parents named Ken and Dawn Buck. In high school, I played softball and
field hockey four all four years. I was involved in Student Government,
Concert Choir and Bell Choir. I love being around friends, family and people in general. I also love making people laugh. Before I was accepted into Moravian College, I was always interested in teaching and working with children my entire life. |

At Moravian, I
played softball for a year and a half. When I was a freshman, I tore my
ACL so I couldn't play for my whole freshman season. While I was at
Moravian, I decided to participate in other extra curricular activities
such as Spanish Club, Kapp Delta Pi (which is an honors education
society), TLC and the Moravian mascot, "Amy." TLC (The Learning Connection), is a program where I mentor a fourth grader from Fountain Hill Elementary School. I have been working with this student since sophomore year. I really enjoy my weekly meetings with my menti. |
| Since I have been at Moravian
College, I have had the opportunity to work with students from
Kindergarten to 5th Grade. Two of the schools that I have taught were
inner-city. I realized that I really want to work in an inner-city
school in the near future. In the summers during college, I started to
work at a camp called, The College Settlement Camp of Philadelphia.
Here, I have the opportunity to work every day with teenagers from
Philadelphia. I fell in love with the challenge that this camp has
given me. In the future, I hope to be the best teacher I can be and
open the doors with educational success for all students. "I
had
the
best
experience
of my life at CSC!"

Since I am
studying Spanish, one of my requirements is to travel to spanish
speaking countries. Trust me, I'm okay with this requirement. In May of
2010, I had the opportunity to travel to Tocúmen, Panamá,
where I taught elementary bilingual children English for three weeks. I
traveled to many different parts of Panamá, which I will never
forget. In Fall 2011, I will be traveling to Seville, Spain to study
Spanish.![]() |
