Hi, my
name is Amanda Dizinno and I am currently a sophmore at Moravian
College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I am orignally from a town in
New Jersey called Budd Lake. I graduated from Mount Olive High
School in 2009. In Jersey, I live with my parents Patty and Rob
Diznno, my older brother Matthew, who is a senior at Farleigh Dickinson
University, my younger sister Jenna, who is in 8th grade and will be
entering a performing arts high school next year, and my
grandmother. We also have a dog named Sadie as well.
Growing up, sports have played huge role in my life. I started
playing soccer when I was 3 years old, softball when I was 7, and
basketball when I 8. I continued to play these three growing up
until high school. I played varsity soccer my freshman year in
high school but stopped playing after that. I played varsity
basketball and softball for all four years of high school.
Throughout high school I was actively involved in Student and Class
Council, Varsity Club, and was a member of World Language Honor
Soceity. Through the college application process I only applied
to two schools and I got into them both; however, the moment I visited
Moravian College I knew it was where I wanted to attend. I
applied early decision to Moravian and got recruited to play softball
there as well.
At Moravian I am currently playing softball for my second year. I
recieved all conference honors my freshman year.

Softball is something that I have
always loved doing and is still one of my favorite things to do.
It also helps me with time management a lot because I have less time
than most college students, so I have to stay on top of my work.
I am currently doing my second semester of field exeperience and I love
every second of it! I was placed in a kindergarten classroom at
first and now I am in a second grade classroom. Personally, I
liked being in the kindergarten class better and I am pretty sure that
is the grade I want to teach.

Here at Moravian I am
majoring in elementary education and historical studies. I think
after I graduate I would like to work with lower-level elementary,
kindergarten/first grade. I might even be interested in opening
my own day care depending on if I get a job or not. The reason I
wanted to become a teacher is simply because I love to work with
kids! I wanted a career where I can make a difference in someones
life and to me, I wanted that life to be a child. I really admire
the innocence that children have. I have known that I wanted to
be a teacher for a long time and I cannot imagine doing something else
as a career.
