"It's okay to make mistakes. Mistakes are our teachers - they help us to learn."

| I have always wanted to be a teacher. I just took a few side trips on my journey to get to the classroom.
Prior to enrolling in the Certification program at Moravian College I have had several careers, each one adding valuable life skills that will no doubt come in handy in the classroom. I graduated from Cedar Crest College with a degree in Communications for the Media (along with minors in History and Theatrical Design). My degree led to work as a radio station DJ (Q100). I have sold advertising space for a large New Jersey daily newspaper, and spent several years at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a Purchasing Agent. (Imagine contacting Taipai, China for pricing when the internet hasn't been invented yet!) I also worked in the marketing and public relations department for a computer company (ECCS), where I would write articles for industry journals, create news releases, and arrange for participation in industry trade shows. |

| My favorite side trip to the classroom has been my family. As the proud mother of two boys, I was a stay-at-home mom for over ten years. All that hands-on training with my boys (and their friends) has given me a world of practical experience that will be beneficial in an elementary classroom, especially in areas of classroom management, and creative instruction. | |||
