Educational Experience
I graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and a concentration in computers. I spent 8 years consulting in the computer industry then chose to 'retire' to be a
stay-at-home mother until 2002, when I began substitute teaching for the Bethlehem Area School District.
Initially, I substituted at many of the elementary and middle schools in Bethlehem; but found that I really preferred working with older children. Consequently, I spent most of my time working at East Hills Middle School. I truly enjoy working with children at the secondary school level.
Since the fall of 2005, I have been a substitute teacher primarily at Freedom High School.
  • For one year, I taught Technology Concepts to freshman at Freedom as a long-term substitute. My duties included creating lesson plans, teaching, and testing the students.
  • I worked in learning support for three months, teaching Biology and Earth Science to freshmen and juniors. Again, my duties included creating lesson plans, teaching, and testing the students.
  • For the past two years, I have worked full-time as a math and reading tutor. During my semester long classes, in which I tutor groups of students, I assist them in building their skills in math and reading for the purpose of attaining proficiency on the PSSA tests, utilizing Study Island software.

I am currently attending Moravian College to earn certification in Seconday Education and plan to teach Mathematics at the middle or high school level.
