This lesson plan highlights the area of Art while encouraging students to strengthen their literacy skills. It is a great lesson to be used around Thanksgiving, as the basis of it is being grateful. This lesson allows students to be creative and it encourages individualism and the finished product makes a wonderful gift for Mom or Dad.
This lesson plan highlights the area of Literacy and focuses on the concept of the long vowel sound versus the short vowel sound. This particular lesson concentrates on the a sound, however; it can be modified to meet the requirements for all of the vowels. It includes active learning and a follow up activity for assessment.
