About
Me
My name is Allison Hess and I live in
Harleysville, PA. I have a large family that I am very close
with, including my three older brothers. I am a 2008 graduate
from Souderton Area High School. During high school I was a
member of student government and a four year member of the varsity
women's lacrosse team, of which I was a team captain my senior
year.
During high school I had two amazing
opportunities that helped me
realize my dream of one day becoming an educator. When I was 16 I
began working as an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist with a child
with autism. I continued to work with him unt
il I went away to
college. Along with that, my senior year of high school I took
part in the educational intern program. That means I got to spend
one block a day for half of the school year helping out in a second
grade class in the local elementary school. I had an amazing
experience with both of these.
I am currently a third year student
at Moravian College. I am
majoring in psychology and receiving my elementary education
certificate. During my time here at Moravian I was a member of
the Varsity Women's Lacrosse Team, until its discontinuation last
fall. I am now a member of the upcoming Women's Lacrosse Clu
b
Team. I am also a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma national
sorority at Moravian College. I participate in a mentoring program where I mentor troubled
juveniles from the area. Both of these programs have taught
me important life skills in time management, and I feel they have
helped make into a more well rounded student.
