I
attended Arthur P. Schalick High School in Pittsgrove, NJ. My
high school was very small, but it was great growing up in a school
where everyone knew everyone. In high school, I was very
active. I was a varsity player on our high school's tennis team
for three years, as well as varsity captain my senior year.
During my junior and senior year, I was the Tri-County Classic Diamond
Division Singles Champion. This was a great honor for me, and was
one of the factors that made me want to continue my tennis
career. In addition to being a varsity athlete, I was also a
member of my high school's chapter of the National Honor Society, an
active member of the Student Council all four years, Vice-President of
my senior class, captain of the Bloodmobile Committee, as well as a
member of the yearbook staff. Also, outside of school, I
volunteered at my local hospital during my entire high school career. |
| One of
the greatest activites that I was a part of during high school was my
school's chapter of Relay for Life. This was a great event to be
a part of, and it has always had a special place in my heart.
During my sophomore year of high school, my grandfather died of
leukemia. After that, I was determined to make a difference in
the battle against cancer. Relay was a great event to participate
in because it brought people together to raise money and make a
difference. Even after I graduated high school, I still came back
to run events while I was in college. This was a great
experience, and something that I have always been extremely proud to be
a part of. |

After
graduating from high school with honors, I decided to attend Moravian
College. Moravian seemed like a perfect fit for me because I felt
like I could not only exceed in academics, but also exceed in all
aspects of my college life. My major is English and Secondary
Education, and I one day hope to earn my masters in guidance and work
as a college plaement counselor at a high school. While here at
Moravian. I have been an active member of the women's tennis team,
playing for the Hounds for the past 2 1/2 years. In addition to
tennis, I have also been a member of the 26 Points Student Ambassadors,
giving tours to potential students and families. Finally, one of
my favorite activies while here at Moravian has been being a student
advisior to the incoming freshman class. I have been a student
advisor since my sophomore year, and it has been an extremely rewarding
experience to not only work with the faculty, but also to work with the
freshmen and help them adapt to life here at Moravian. |
