About Me

Early Years
My name is Alex Macri.  I am from Allentown Pennsylvania and graduated from Parkland High School in 2009.  I lettered in cross country and track all four years and racked up numerous league, and district championships.  I was a four year member of the German Club as well.  I have very fond memories of high school.  I was a good student finishing with a 3.4 GPA, all while creating lasting friendships with classmates, teachers, and students.

After a semester at the University of Tennessee, I transferred to Moravian College in the spring of 2010.  Originally I had planned on pursuing a nursing degree, but I found my calling in teaching.  I continued to run for Moravian while I attended school as well.  In the winter of 2011, just entering winter break, I broke my cervical vertebrae 4 and 5 that left me paralyzed from the shoulders down.  Rigorous physical and occupation therapy has help me regain some of what I have lost and fortunately I am able to walk again.  After missing the 2012 spring semester I came back to school to finish my degree.
