Previous Educational Experiences: (All in
Bethlehem, PA except Spring 2012)
- Fall 2010:
- Nitschmann Middle School
- 7th Grade Social Studies
- During this experience, our class covered a lot of geography and through these lessons, I was able to learn more about teaching geography.
Spring 2011:
- Freedom High School
- All grade levels 9-12th Learning Support
- This experience gave me an opportunity to work one on one with students who has disablilities or struggled for a variety of reasons. It was beneficial to be exposed to these students that I will inevitably have one day in my own classroom.
Fall 2011:
- Broughal Middle School
- 6-8th Grade Learning Support
- This experience was a classroom set-up experience that I was able to teach a few lessons as well as tutor students one-on-one.
Spring 2012:
- Teaching abroad in Jamisa Upper Basic School, The Gambia, West Africa.
- 9th Grade Gambian/African History
- This was an incredible experience because I was given full control of a classroom and designed all of my own lessons as well as an assessment. This was a very rewarding experience. I became very comfortable in front of a classroom.
