I
graduated
from Glen Ridge High School in Glen Ridge, New Jersey in
2008. Throughout high school, I was a member of the Girls Tennis team
and a member of the Future Educators of America Club. As a member of
the Girls Club, I worked with the Glen Ridge Women's Club to do
community service events. I also was actively involved in creation and
planning of our 2008 yearbook. Throughout high school, I had great
teachers who inspired me to become an educator. ![]() |
During the fall of my
senior year of high school, I chose to apply to Moravian College early
decision. I was ecstatic when I was accepted and looked forward to my
new experiences at Moravian through my final year of high school. At
Moravian, I chose to become an English major with an elementary
education certification. However, during my education classes and field
experiences, I began to feel that secondary education was more
appropriate for me, so I now am obtaining a secondary education
certification.![]() |

Here
at
Moravian, I have been involved in America Reads, a program where I
tutored elementary aged children in reading and math. During the spring
of 2010, I became a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. I have really
enjoyed my experiences in Zeta Tau Alpha; being a member of a sorority
has strengthened my leadership skills and has given me opportunities to
do service work around the Bethlehem community. Additionally, I am
currently working for the English department, helping organize the
Medieval Conference which will take place in December 2010. |
| Outside of Moravian,
I have worked at Camp Cayuga for two summers. As a camper there from
age 11 to 15, I really loved the camp experience. After freshman year
of college, I began my experience as a counselor. It was amazing
getting to live with children of different age groups; first I was with
children aged 8 to 9, then children aged 12 to 13. At camp, I would
teach students different activities, such as tennis, pottery and arts
and crafts. I also worked closely with individuals from around the
world, which truly helped my leadership skills. |
