Since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher...
I was born
and raised in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Lehighton is on the fringe
of the Poconos next to Jim Thorpe. I live with my mom and two
siblings, Avery and Tucker. We share our house
with my Goldendoodle, Emilee, and three cats, Perry, Lola, and
with honors from Jim Thorpe High School in Jim Thorpe,
Pennsylvania. During high school, I participated in soccer,
National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society.
graduating in 2008, I attended Lehigh Carbon Community College. At
LCCC, I had the opportunity to internship for the S.H.I.N.E.
program. At the S.H.I.N.E. program, I worked in the Shenandoah
Valley School District in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. I assisted in
the teaching of an after school program with at-risk students in
grades 1 through 4. Along with teaching, I also spoke/read/wrote fluent
Spanish which enabled me to speak with parents and students who
speak Spanish. I realized at the S.H.I.N.E. program that I wanted
to teach elementary school children.
2009, I began my educational career at Moravian College. I elected
to pursue a Political Science Degree along with my Elementary
Education certification. With my
political science degree, I would like to influence education policy
and start my own program similar to S.H.I.N.E.
Activities and Hobbies:
I like to spend most of my time outdoors. I enjoy four-wheeling,
hiking, biking, swimming, playing with Emilee, snowboarding, and
golfing. I enjoy reading books on my Kindle and playing Xbox with
Tucker. I enjoy spending my time with my boyfriend, Mel and my
family. I also enjoy traveling, amusement parks, Myrtle Beach, the
Phillies, and listening to Country music.
