About Me
I chose to enter teaching as a second career because
education has always been a passion of mine. I have a B.S. in
Psychology with a minor in Spanish. I also
have a Masters of
Business Administration. My corporate
experience includes Consumer Affairs and Customer Service. These
experiences enabled me to delve into people's needs and to analyze how
the operation or product could be improved. Relationship
management is a key component of success in these two fields.
I am a
ctively
involved in the Bushkill Elementary PTA. In
addition to serving as an officer, I plan and run many of our
ev
ents.
I work closely with our Math Specialist to implement
Family Math Night. Here,
students and their families can enjoy
different math
stations together. Family Science Night is
another, similar event. I research and implement hands-on science
activities for the
children. I work with our teachers to
coordinate teacher-led science stations. In addition, I work with
members of the community to bring interesting
science experiences to
the event.
Serving on the PTA has enabled me to partner
with our principal and
other members of the school's administration. I help to garner
the resources needed for school events. This may include the
recruitment of volunteers, solicitation of donations or the actual
purchase of supplies. As an officer, I am involved in setting the
annual budget fok our PTA.
