During the Spring of 2009, I did a 40 hour field work assignment at Plainfield Elementary
School (Pen Argyl School District). I had the opportunity to
work with a first grade class. This experience gave me the
opportunity to better understand literacy and math stations, guided
reading, different assessments, and classroom management. I was
able to work individually with students to provide learning support and
administer make-up tests. I also helped to correct homework.
Cheston
Elementary School, Kindergarten
I completed another 40 hour field work assignment at Cheston
Elementary School (Easton Area School District) during the Fall of
2010. This gave me first-hand experience with bilingual
education. At that time, Cheston also was the only full-day
kindergarten program in the school district. I had the
opportunity to lead circle time, and administer assessments and make-up
tests. I was able to work one-on-one with students to review
lessons.
