In a ASA, you will be "in charge" of an event or a duty. Everyone in this sorority is a leader, whether you're an officer, on a committee, or just a participant. You will learn by doing. You'll learn how to run effective meetings, speak in public, motivate others…skills that will help you in the college and throughout your life. These days it takes more than just a degree to get a good job-it takes leadership experience.


ADVANTAGE #3 - SCHOLARSHIP
The first and foremost priority of Alpha Sigma Alpha is academic achievement, and helping our members achieve this goal is the primary objective of the sorority. Support and help are always forthcoming through formal study hours, tutoring groups, study buddies, and many informal programs.


ADVANTAGE #4 - SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Offering a break from the demands of the classroom is one of the benefits of the Alpha Sigs. Throughout the year, ASA participates in many social events such as Homecoming, mixers, Greek Week, and formals. These events give you the opportunity to meet a variety of people and strengthen bonds of friendship.


ADVANTAGE #5 - COMMUNITY SERVICE
Alpha Sigma Alpha spends a significant amount of time helping others in need. The commitment found in our members can be seen in the enthusiasm they have in giving back to the community in the form of philanthropic work with the S. June Smith Center, the Special Olympics, and various other causes.

Say you've graduate or are just looking for a summer job. Now what? Today it might take more than looking in want-ads and job postings. You need a network of people. Alpha Sigma Alpha is one of the best ways to do just that. Using resources of our sorority members like alumnae, you may find that
job you've been looking for.


ADVANTAGE #7 - THE NEW MEMBER PROGRAM
Joining Alpha Sigma Alpha will provide you with a foundation from which you can achieve your goals. Your time as a new member (a.k.a. Pearl Sister) will be one of the most memorable and exciting times in your life. Being a Pearl Sister is a time of fun, friendship, learning and growing. ASA will provide many opportunities for you to really find out who you are. As a Pearl, you will learn the creed and history of our sorority to better understand the principles by which it is guided. Becoming a Pearl Sister is forming lifelong friendships while pursuing high ideals and common interests!
