| After graduating from Lafayette College with a bachelors degree, this "lost" biology major wound up in the paint and coatings industry for the last 15 years!
I worked as a Laboratory Technician and a Color Analyst at BASF Corporation in Belvidere, NJ manufacturing automotive refinish paints from 1989 to 2000.
From 2000 to 2004, I worked at Specialty Minerals Inc., a subsidiary of Minerals Technologies Inc., as a Research and Development Laboratory Technician and then as a Project Specialist. I was responsible for developing novel uses and technologies for minerals used in the paint and coatings industry.
After my marriage to my wife, Kara, in 2000, the birth of my daughter, Devon, in 2003 and mounting job dissatisfaction, I decided to leave the paint and coatings industry to become a "Stay at Home Dad" and to pursue a more satisfying and fulfilling career. (Not an easy decision!)
In 2004, I entered the Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program at Moravian College. I haven't looked back since!
My mother was a high school librarian and my father was a minister during my formative years. Upon reflection, I have seen what a profoundly positive impact they had on many, many people. They truly touched lives! My parents are my inspiration.
After 15 years, the "Prodigal Son" has returned with a vision, a purpose and a dream. My vision is to touch the lives of others as an educator. My purpose is to serve as a role model, a guide and a mentor and my dream is to make it all happen.
Who says that dreams can't come true!
