Hello! My name is Rachel Tenneson. I am a Junior at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in English. I will graduate in 2012 and cannot wait to have my own classroom!
I have lived in the small town of Califon, New Jersey my entire life. I attended Voorhees High School and graduated with the class of 2008.
I love attending Moravian College and being part of the various opportunities on campus. I am a member of 26 Points, where I give tours to students interested in attending Moravian College. I am also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in the field of education. Beginning in the fall of 2010, I began to tutor at the Salvation Army as a part of the America Reads Program. I love that I am able to connect and spend time with the students who are all unique and lovable.
I love to travel and have been many places including France, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, and places all over the United States. In May of 2011, I will be attending a May Term to Europe with my wonderful friends where I will be visiting Austria, Italy, France, and Germany. Travelling has definitely influenced my life and has made me a better and more culturally aware person.
Since I was young, I have always dreamed of one day becoming an elementary school teacher. Teaching the children of our future is such a powerful experience and I hope to influence and motivate all of my students in my teaching career.
