Hi! My name is Amanda Vogt. I graduated from
Easton Area High School in 2009 as a member of the
National Honor Society. While in high school, I
continued my life-long involvement in cheerleading.
I was captain of the Junior Varsity squad during my
sophomore year and continued on to the Varsity
squad. Cheerleading has taught me a lot about
commitment and discipline. In my senior year, I was
awarded a scholarship for scholar athlete. |

After high school I attended Moravian
College, located in Bethlehem, PA. Having excelled
in literature and language courses throughout my
college career, I knew immediately that I wanted to
major in English. My love of children pushed me to
also take up a secondary education certification.
After declaring my major I was subjected to many
great experiences in both the English and the
Education courses taught at Moravian. Recently, I
was inducted into the National English Honor
Society, also known as Sigma Tau Delta. |

Throughout college I have maintained a
part-time job at a local childcare center called
Cambridge Day School. I know that not many people
are able to say this, but I love my job and the
children that I work with. While infants, toddlers,
and pre-schoolers are not in my area of
certification at Moravian, I feel that my
experiences with these younger children have
provided me with a sense of development and nurture.

As any true English major would say, I spend
my spare time searching for my next good read. My
nook has become my best friend during the summer! I
have a special interest in young adult literature
and cannot wait to utilize such works in my future
classroom. I openly admit to being a huge Harry
Potter fanatic! As such, I hope that every student
has the opportunity to read a book that truly
transports him to another world! |
