I am an alumna of Moravian College.I graduated with a B.A. of History in
May 2003.I have
always had a passion for learning history.I
want
to
share
that
passion
with
today’s children as the
importance of history is dwindling in today’s educational curriculum
standards.
I love working with children for two reasons. The
first
reason is the satisfaction from when you know that you have
inspired someone to learn about
something
critical for today’s world. The second is that I feel blessed when my
students
inspire within me that which I hope to inspire in them.My students motivate me to continually
grow as a student, as a global citizen, and as a mentor. They keep me striving for more out of
life.I strive to foster an
environment where everyone that is involved learns together.
The passions that I love to share with my
students are
largely involved with nature and music.I
love to be outside when not in the classroom. My
husband and I love to travel to beautiful destinations for climbing and
experiencing other cultures. I
spend
most
of
my free time gardening
for my family, several friends, and myself. This
is
an
activity
that
I
do
with students several times
throughout the year.A personal
goal would be to start an organic vegetable garden at the Phillipsburg
Middle School.My other outdoor hobbies
include
kayaking on the Delaware River as well as biking as frequently as
possible.
I have loved music since I was a girl.As
a teenager I began playing guitar
and learning songs to sing while playing. When
I
started
Moravian
in
2001
I took classical guitar
lessons.Music is an excellent way to
connect
with others.I have organized the
annual talent show at Phillipsburg Middle School for five years. It is one of the highlights of my year.
